Alexandra White's Blog

I’m a medical student documenting my clinical training while exploring the evolving role of radiology in patient care. Through this blog, I share reflections from the hospital and provide emerging, practical breakdowns of current research for fellow medical professionals.

Journey of a Medical Student: DJ and Future Doctor

My name is Alexandra White, and I am a medical student at Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. I created this page as a space for fun, inspiration, and education but more importantly, as a way to share the full picture of who I am.

As I began working on my residency applications, I realized I wanted something beyond a CV. I wanted a place that reflects both sides of my life: medicine and everything outside of it.

This blog is for students, aspiring medical professionals, and anyone curious about me but also for people who appreciate creativity, music, and balance in a demanding career path.

My long-term goal is to become an interventional radiologist. That interest really took shape during my third year of medical school while completing a diagnostic and interventional radiology rotation. It felt like the perfect intersection of cutting-edge technology and hands-on patient care using advanced imaging to directly improve outcomes in real time.

Outside of medicine, I’m a beginner DJ and a golfer. DJing started as a creative outlet and quickly became something I love sharing with others. There’s something about building a mix and seeing my friends bouncing to the beat. Golf, on the other hand, gives me a different kind of patience, discipline, and a chance to reset.

On this site, you’ll find:

  • Breakdowns of radiology literature in simple, practical terms
  • Insights into medical training and the path to residency
  • A look into my life outside the hospital
  • DJ mixes you can throw on during a workout, walk, or while cleaning

If you’re interested in radiology, I’ll be reviewing topics ranging from foundational imaging concepts to emerging techniques in interventional procedures. My goal is to make complex material more approachable and actually useful.

I also want this to feel like a conversation, not just a blog. If something resonates with you, feel free to reach out, share your thoughts, or follow along.

And if you need something to listen to while you’re studying or getting through your day don’t be afraid to press play.
